Is there a way to turn on fixed table column widths by default? I
have to turn this on each time I make a table (I never need variable
width, always fixed width).

Thanks. :oD

Not without VBA, it would appear. You can select a default table style, and
you can modify any table style except Table Normal, but "Automatically
resize to fit contents" is not one of the properties that can be modified.

Thanks, good to know. But this has been a bug in my ear for so long.
In WP, fixed column widths is the default which was always good since
I've absolutely never needed variable widths.

But at least now I know a couple of ways to invoke that in Word,
albeit it manually. At least it's a feature!

Cheers. :oD
