I have a word 2010 document that began as a small table but since
added more data to it, it has now run over across two pages but left
massive blank at the top of the second page. The table is marked a
Allow Row To Break Across Pages, and I haven't put a break in o
anything...but I can't click in this white space or anything. Acros
the forums I've looked at there seem to be plenty of options but non
for 2010. I'm sure there is an easy answer but I've reached my limit!!
Please be nice, I got abused the last forum I went on for asking thi
question *looks afraid

First of all, make sure "Vertical alignment" in the Page Setup dialog box is
set to "Top." To open the dialog box, you can double-click the vertical
ruler. You'll find the alignment options on the Layout tab of the dialog.

If the above doesn't help, look at the paragraph formatting for the row that
begins on the second page. Select the table row. On the Home tab, click the
dialog launcher button (the little arrow on the bottom right) of the
Paragraph group. On the Line and Page Breaks tab, make sure that "Page break
before" and "Keep with next" are both cleared. Click OK.

Hi!

I have the same problem as Sara. Just tried your advice, and ... nothing happened. Any other suggestions. The table was created from an online college so I don't know what they've done???

Please help!

I don't know Sara, nor do I know her problem...
So what is your problem with tables? Check whether paragraphs within the
table are formatted as "Keep with next".

Highlight the table.
Right Click: Table Properties: Row: Uncheck"Specify height"(make sure the box is completely clear and not solid blue; Check: "Allow row to break across
pages".
That's what I did and it worked.

I had this issue and ended up needing to fix the row height - right click in table -> select table properties -> unclick the minimum row height under dimensions.

Within Table Properties un-tick the Preferred width, or reduce the preferred width by a couple of millimetres.
