Why does Word allow text to go in between table and its reference endnotes?

Hi

I'm trying to wrap text around a table with reference endnotes in Wor
2007. Draft view was used to delete the separator line between the tabl
and reference endnotes. When Paragraph Marks button is turned on, I ca
still see one "pilcrow" space above the endnotes (below the table botto
line). When text wrapping is turned on in the Table Properties, tex
gets in the space between the table and the endnotes. This is reall
annoying as the reference endnotes are separated from the table by th
text. I want the text to be wrapped around both the table and th
endnotes. Any suggestions please?

Thank

The blank paragraph mark that you see is probably in the endnote separator. See
if formatting it as 1 point size, with zero spacing before/after, and as hidden
text makes a difference.

Thinking about it, reducing the vertical space occupied by the endnote separator
may not suffice. You may have to move the table closer to the edge of the page
manually.

For table notes, I generally find it more satisfactory to put them in the
last row of the table.
